Barrett, Thelma Lorraine, age 92, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died Friday, September 2, 2011. Mrs. Barrett was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church and worked for the U.S. Department of Agriculture for many years. She was the daughter of the late, Roy and Margaret Taylor Hoewischer. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Lionel R. Barrett, Sr.

Ford, Porter Felts, “T-Model”, age 82, of Hermitage, TN, died Sunday, September 4, 2011. Mr. Ford was a member of Center Chapel Church of Christ. He was a 32nd degree Mason, a member of Mt. Davis, Sadie Williams Willis, age 89, of Mt. Juliet/Gallatin, TN, went to her heavenly home on September 9, 2011. Sadie was born into the Christian home of Carnie and Elva Williams of Bethpage, TN on January 20, 1922. She was led to salvation through Jesus Christ at a tent revival when she was 12 years old. Sadie was always active in her church by teaching the Bible, singing in choirs, presiding over missionary groups, organizing fundraisers and ministering to shut-ins. Her Christian convictions were made manifest through soul winning and being a servant to others. Her hobbies were cooking, gardening and sewing, most especially making quilts. She was a faithful wife to John Willis, who died in 1990 and Preston Davis, who died in 2000. She was also preceded in death by her brother, E.L. “Buster” Williams; sister, Effie Troutt and son-in-law, Tom Canida. She is survived by:

Adkins, John Robert, age 71, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died September 15, 2011. Mr. Adkins was a member of Green Hill Church of Christ. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan. He did outdoor cooking each year in Fiddlers Grove at the Wilson County Fair and for the Mt. Juliet Homecoming. Mr. Adkins was the son of the late Virgil and Corinne Pittman Adkins.
