Finley, Norma Jean, age 89, of Hermitage, TN, died May 2, 2019. Mrs. Finley attended Long Hollow Baptist Church in Hendersonville and enjoyed cooking and crocheting. In her younger years, she was a star basketball player at Cannon County High School in Woodbury, TN. Mrs. Finley was the daughter of the late, John William and Eliza Bell Merriman Witty. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Thomas Finley and siblings, Arnold Witty, Darnell Witty, Wiley Witty and Naomi Cobb.

She is survived by:

Daughters – Brenda Pursley, Martine Hudgens and Lois (Jeff) Key

Grandchildren – Jay (Amber) Finley, Chase (Katie) Finley, Dallas (Kim) Finley,

Funeral services will be conducted 3 p.m. on the Lord’s day, Sunday, May 5, 2019 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Juliet Memorial Gardens. Family members will serve as pallbearers.

Godfrey, William “Bill”, age 71, of Nashville, TN, died May 7, 2019. Bill was a member of Victory Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army. He served as Deputy Sheriff of Aiken County, SC for 4 years and then worked as an accountant for E-Z Go Golf Cart Company in Augusta, GA. From 1974-1989, he owned Otasco Hardware Store in Edgefield, SC and he later owned The Greek Touch Restaurant in the Arcade in Nashville for 25 years. Bill was the son of the late, Winford and Addie Mae Olds.
He is survived by:
Wife of 27 years – Linda Hall Godfrey
Children – Kevin Haddock, Debra Lanham and Kevin Lynch
Grandchildren – William Lanham, Alexis Ma and Haley Haddock

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, May 11, 2019 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Rev. Chuck Groover, Rev. Terrance Hannah and Rev. Chip White officiating. Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Active pallbearers will be Mike Briggs, Kerry Cowell, Norm Darnell, Ron Britt, Joe Willoughby and Todd Varello.

Malone, Judith Anne “Judy”, age 79, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 8, 2019. Mrs. Malone was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church. She was saved at Grandview Baptist Church in Nashville, TN when she was in the 5th grade. In 1958, Mrs. Malone played piano for a small church in College Grove, TN which was sponsored by Grandview Baptist Church. She also served as alternate pianist at Lakeview Baptist Church. At Tulip Grove Baptist Church, Mrs. Malone helped start the Room In The Inn ministry, worked in the beginning of the Awana program, taught Sunday School, was a co-facilitator of Women On Missions, sang in the choir and was a member of the Good News Club. Mrs. Malone was a graduate of Central High School in Nashville, TN and was a 1961 graduate of Mid-State Baptist Hospital School of Nursing. She also volunteered with the Pregnancy Care Center and the Tennessee Guardianship Program of the elderly. Mrs. Malone was the daughter of the late, E. Harley and Garnett Smith Roach. She was also preceded in death by her brother, J.B. Malone.
She is survived by:
Husband of 56 years – Jerry Malone
Children – Chip Malone, Scott Malone, Sheril Hipkins and Steve Malone
Grandchildren – Kyle Malone, Brooke Malone, Rachel Malone, Chris Fults
and Maegan Anderson
Great-grandchild – Haley Fults

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Monday, May 13, 2019 at Bond Memorial Chapel with Steve Malone officiating. Interment will follow noon at Salem Cemetery in Liberty, TN. Active pallbearers will be Jimmy Malone, Kenneth Malone, Todd Malone, Arlo Loring, Pat Tune, Mark Hipkins and Richard Davis.

Young, Mark Telford, age 60, of Old Hickory, TN, died May 13, 2019. Mark was an employee of Can-Do National Tape. Prior to 2011, he was employed by John Deal Company. He was an avid Alabama and Denver Broncos football fan. Mark enjoyed golfing, skiing, animals, landscaping and barbequing. He was the son of the late, Jim Ray and Nina Ruth McConnell Young. Mark was also preceded in death by his brother, Michael Young.

Family and friends will gather for a Celebration of Life service from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday, May 18, 2019 at Bond Memorial Chapel. Mark would love it if you wore your Crimson Tide gear.

Warden, Mary Elizabeth Ely, age 94, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 14, 2019. Mrs. Warden was a member of Green Hill Church of Christ. She was the daughter of the late, Austin Durwood and Ellen Liversedge Ely. Mrs. Warden was also preceded in death by her husband, Lloyd Warden; brother, Earl Richard Ely and sister, Ruth Babcox.

Doak, Katherine Susan, age 47, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 3, 2019. Ms. Doak was a graduate of McGavock High School. She also graduated from Sullivan University with a degree in Culinary Arts. She worked for many years as a chef and caterer. Ms. Doak was preceded in death by her father, Henry Lawrence Doak.

She is survived by:

Corley, John Taylor, age 82, of Mt. Juliet, TN and formerly of Greenville, KY, died May 24, 2019. Mr. Corley was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was retired from TVA. He worked with Lifelines ministry, an organization that helps the needy. Mr. Corley’s hobbies were golf, woodworking, and watching his grandchildren play sports and music.  He was also an avid Kentucky Wildcats fan.  He was the son of the late, Jack and Verda Cisney Corley. Mr. Corley was also preceded in death by his siblings, Jane Martin, Charles “Pud” Corley, Edwin Harold Corley, Erma Joyce Byrd and Ben Corley.

He is survived by:

Sloas, Aaron Kelley, age 33, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died May 30, 2019. Aaron was a graduate of Franklin High School and attended Nashville Tech. He was a metalworker at Sloas Fabrication and was a former employee of Hobart Manufacturing in Danville, KY. Aaron enjoyed snowboarding, playing guitar and old aircraft. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Dayton Dave Sloas and Martha Sloas.
