Bruce, Nellie Frances, age 92, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 3, 2020. Mrs. Bruce was a former sales clerk at Macy’s and Sam’s Club. She was an animal lover and enjoyed working in the yard. Mrs. Bruce was the daughter of the late, Leslie Coy and Judie Frances McCord Stinson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James Holland Bruce; son, Thomas Elwood Bruce and siblings, Lester Stinson, M.C. Stinson, Louella Biltucci and Martha Seagroves.

Jones, Russell Howard, “Rusty”, age 63, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 3, 2020. Rusty grew up attending Green Hill Baptist Church. He was a 1974 graduate of Mt. Juliet High School and attended Nashville Tech. He was a trained computer technician, a fireman and a professional driver. Rusty was currently an employee of Bond Memorial Chapel. He was the son of the late, Howard Edward and Dorothy Lillian Bolling Jones.

Simmons Delbert Gene, age 78, of Old Hickory, TN, went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 5, 2020.
Gene was a member and active deacon of Victory Baptist Church. He was the son of the late, John Durwood and Minnie Smith Simmons. He was also preceded in death by his niece, Tony Simmons Stinnnett.

Bledsoe, Ina Evolene “Evelyn”, age 86, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 6, 2020 peacefully at her home under the loving care of Avalon Hospice after a long hard battle with breast cancer and metastatic breast cancer. Mrs. Bledsoe was a cafeteria manager in the Metropolitan Nashville School System for many years and had also served as Day Care manager at Donelson Christian Church. She was a Cub Scout Den Mother and actively supported Sherry’s Run. Mrs. Bledsoe was the daughter of the late, Herman Guy and Daisy Ann Young Denson. She was also preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Charlie Farmer Bledsoe; siblings, Georgia Inez Bland and Freddie Denson and her great-granddaughter, Avalyn Shaye Bright. Mrs. Bledsoe was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.

Bass, Mary Lou, age 94, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 11, 2020. Mrs. Bass was a member of Green Hill Church of Christ. She worked for Dupont and later for the Bank of Mt. Juliet and Lebanon Bank. Mrs. Bass was a member of Ilene’s Travel Club, the Hermitage Ladies Association and the Green Hills Woman’s Club. She enjoyed traveling, needle work, working in her flowers and horse shows. Mrs. Bass was the daughter of the late, Herman and Alta Dedman Enoch. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Roy Enoch and George Enoch.

Simms, John “Jay”, age 62, of Mt. Juliet, TN, departed this life for eternal life on February 3, 2020. Jay was born on November 26, 1957 in Mobile, AL, and moved to Tennessee as a young child. He lived in Williamson County for many years, and most recently resided in Del Webb Lake Providence in Mt. Juliet. Jay attended Battle Ground Academy, graduated from Goodpasture High School, and attended Auburn University. He began his professional life in sales for the Yellow Pages/L.M. Berry, and through his career worked with several telecommunications companies, including XO One Communications, Inc., where he served as Vice President/General Manager. He owned and operated his own company, RiserLogic, LLC, before retiring in 2007. He enjoyed playing sports in high school, and continued to hunt, fish, and play golf as an adult. Jay LOVED and followed college football (especially Auburn) and pro golf. He was an active member at Providence Church, greeting, ushering and serving communion. Never meeting a stranger, Jay loved people, and will always be remembered for his friendliness, kindness and positive attitude. His giving spirit continued on as he arranged for his earthly body to be donated for anatomical research. Jay was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Boyd “J.B.” Akin and Katherine Beckett Akin; father, John Asa Simms; adoptive father, Everett Falk; brother, Eric Mace Falk and son, John Davis Simms.

Bradley, Jr., Thomas Fisher “Tommy”, age 73, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 15, 2020. Tommy attended Leeville United Methodist Church. He was retired from Dupont with over 35 years of service. Tommy enjoyed hunting, fishing and volunteering at the Wilson County Fair. He was the son of the late, Thomas Fisher Bradley, Sr. and Susie Mae Murphy Bradley. Tommy was also preceded in death by his grandson, Josh Jernigan.

Rogers, Darrin Alan, age 51, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 14, 2020. Darrin was a native of West Virginia and was a member of the 4-H Club and the FFA while he was in high school. He graduated with honors from Nashville Auto Diesel College. Darrin was an employee of UPS Freight, formerly Overnite Transportation. He was hard working, a “Jack of All Trades” and loved helping others, but expected nothing in return. Darrin enjoyed the outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting and kayaking. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time at the beach with his wife. Darrin enjoyed spending time on the family farm in West Virginia cutting wood and riding on the tractor. He especially loved date nights, snuggling with his wife, Natasha, watching Hallmark movies. Natasha was his soul mate, best friend and love of his life. Darrin was preceded in death by his father, Dalton Rogers; brother, Darius Rogers; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jimmy and Cathey Baker and grandparents, James and Faye Rogers, Thomas “Tot” and Mary VanPelt and Gertrude Morgan.

She attended Grace United Methodist Church. Mrs. Gaetan enjoyed sewing, cooking, reading her Bible and spending time with her family. She was the daughter of the late, Monety Gaetan and Alcina Ausias Gaetan. Sullivan, Edward Joseph “Ed” and wife, Ann “Annie”, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died 16 hours apart, surrounded by their children, writing a beautiful end to a 65 year love story. Mrs. Sullivan was born April 6, 1932 in Chicago, IL and died February 19, 2020. She was the youngest of five children born to the late, Vendel and Mary Dolak Jeno. Mr. Sullivan was born November 27, 1931 in Chicago, IL. He was the oldest of 5 children born to the late, Joseph and Rose Stube Sullivan. The Sullivan’s were members of St. Stephen Catholic Community. Mrs. Sullivan was very involved as a funeral and bereavement volunteer at the church and her deviled eggs were famous. She was family oriented; she loved people and people loved her. Mr. Sullivan was a veteran of the U.S. Army serving from February 29, 1952 – February 16, 1954 and retired from CPC International. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and gardening. The Sullivan’s were preceded in death by their sons, Edward Paul Sullivan and Joseph Wendel Sullivan.

Vance, III, Frank “Butch”, age 65, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 23, 2020. Butch enjoyed slot car racing, poker, and listening to country music. He was a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and also enjoyed baseball, NASCAR and golf. Butch was the son of the late, Frank Vance, Jr. and Barbara Irene Girton Vance. He was also preceded in death by his brother, James William “Jimbo” Vance; step-son, Adam Matheney; uncle, Don Girton and aunt, Emma (Bob) Miley.

McGee, Blanche Ellen, age 85, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 26, 2020.
Blanche was a member of Abundant Life Memorial in Indianapolis, IN. She had served as a Cub Scout and Girl Scout Mother and was a member of the Lions Club in Pendleton, IN. Blanche was a florist and former owner of L&B Floral. She was a member of the Mt. Juliet Senior Citizens Center and an employee of Kroger on N. Mt. Juliet Road. Blanche was loved by her family and was loved by many. She was a treasure to our community and was always willing to be of service to those in need. Blanche was the daughter of the late, Fred and Myrtle Blackburn Green. She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Diana Elsten; siblings, Samuel Green and Louise Blackburn and step-grandchildren, Chuck Yowler and Bobby Yowler.

Pumphrey, Tyler Raye, age 30, of Lebanon, TN, died February 26, 2020. Tyler was a 2008 graduate of Wilson Central High School. He was a baseball catcher and played travel baseball, high school baseball and earned a scholarship to play baseball at Cleveland State Community College. Tyler loved children and one of his greatest experiences was his mission trip to Nicaragua to teach under privileged children to play baseball. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronnie York.

Shaw, Bernadine Patricia, age 89, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 26, 2020. Mrs. Shaw was a member of Cooks United Methodist Church for over 60 years and held many responsibilities in the church. She was retired from the United Methodist Publishing House where she served as the personal assistant to then President, Ron Patterson. Mrs. Shaw also tutored adults to help them earn their GED. She was the daughter of the late, Benjamin Phillip and Elizabeth Sandor Gibson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert David Shaw.
She is survived by:
Children – Phillip R. Shaw, Kelly Renee Seay, Wendy (Morris) McKenzie
and Robert B. Shaw
Brother – Phillip (Eleanor) Gibson
Grandchildren – Alex (Ryan) Keith, Trisha (Brandon) Neiderheiser,
Elizabeth Simmons, Mandy (Deno) Cunningham
and Chelsea (Joshua) Montoney

Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Cooks United Methodist Church, 7919 Lebanon Road, Mt. Juliet, TN with Rev. Sandra Clay officiating. Interment will be private.

Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Saturday at the church.

Denley, Barbara Sue Sullivan, age 72, of Mt. Juliet, TN, died February 27, 2020. Barbara was a pre-school teacher at Calvary United Methodist Church and was a shuttle van driver at Vanderbilt University Medical Center and CSX Railroad. She was an award winning dog owner and animal lover. Barbara also enjoyed the beach and the ocean. She was the daughter of the late, Thaxton Guill Sullivan, Sr. and Charlotte Elisabeth Armistead Sullivan. Barbara was also preceded in death by her brother, Bryan Sullivan.
She is survived by:
Sons – Dwayne (Penny) Wright and Chris (Christa) Wright
Brothers – T.G. “Binky” (Janice) Sullivan and Dorris Sullivan
Grandson – Cooper Wright
Aunt – Dot (Curtis) Honeycutt
Niece – Kim Armistead and several other nieces and nephews
